Hull

Blue gelcoat solid fiberglass hull using isopolyester laminate and vinylester skin coat. 

Uncolored gel coat below waterline.

Epoxy barrier coat below waterline.

Multiaxial or unidirectional fibers in selected areas. 

Structural bulkheads are of marine plywood, laminated to hull and deck with foam strips between.  

Flanges are unidirectional lay-ups over hollow cores glassed inside the hull for extra hull stiffness.

Engine beds are of GRP.

Single white sheer stripe.

Double white waterline stripe. 

Dagger board version with 4’ draft board up.

The fiberglass dagger board operates with hydraulics.

There is an extra approximately 4,400lbs ballast in this dagger board version of the Swan 461 to maintain similar righting moment to the standard keel Swan 461. 

Twin spade rudder blades, each shorter than the keel with board up.

Rudder stocks are high tensile steel.

General Arrangement

Accommodations

Sleeps 7 in 3 separate sleeping cabins, plus 2 more on the main saloon for a total of 8. 2 heads. Varnished, hand rubbed, Burmese teak interior furniture. Oak and teak cabin sole. Vinyl overhead panels.

Forward Head

Located in the bow and access from the master cabin. Full width. White gel coat fiberglass unit to half height. Teak above. Manual head to starboard. Sink to port. Teak shower grating in floor. Electric sump pump for the shower tray. Telephone type shower. Curtain to isolate the shower. Mirrors and lockers outboard, port and starboard. White Corian counter tops. Stainless-steel holding tank with deck or overboard discharge.

Master Cabin

Located in the bow immediately aft of the forward head. Double offset Pullman type bunk to port. Settee to starboard that can be a bunk. Lockers and shelving outboard port and starboard. Hanging locker port side forward. Access door to saloon aft on starboard side.

Main Saloon

Located aft of the master cabin. Straight settee to starboard. “L” settee to port surrounding a dining table that slides fore and aft allowing more access to seating. Dagger board trunking midship forward. Lockers and shelves outboard to port. Lockers to starboard with electronics aft behind settee.

Galley

Located starboard side and aft of the saloon. “L” shaped. Double steel sinks forward. Overhead lockers over sinks. Lockers and drawers under sinks. Microwave oven forward and outboard. Top load freezer outboard and forward.  3 x burner propane stove with oven outboard. Side load fridge outboard and aft. Locker space outboard and full length of galley. White Corian counter tops. Clear Plexiglass splash panel forward. Refrigeration system is battery driven.  

Aft Head

Located on the port side aft of the saloon and opposite the galley. White gel coat fiberglass unit to half height. Teak furniture above. Manual head aft. Sink outboard. Teak shower grate. Electric sump pump for the shower tray. Mirror and lockers outboard. White Corian counter tops. Stainless-steel holding tank with deck or overboard discharge. 

Aft port cabin

Located immediately aft of the aft head and on the port side. Double bed. Lockers and shelving outboard. Hanging locker outboard and forward. Drawers under bunk.

Aft starboard cabin

Located immediately aft of the galley on the starboard side. “V” double berth. Lockers and shelving outboard. Hanging locker forward and outboard.

Engine

Volvo Penta D2 55, 53hp at 3,000rpm, diesel engine.

1,230hours on engine as of August 2026.

SailDrive transmission.

3 blade Flexofold folding propeller.

3 x stainless-steel diesel tanks each with inspection port and fuel gauge totaling 75 gallons.

Access to the engine space is from side panels and from under the companionway steps.

Engine space has air inlet with water trap, and exhausts via a blower.

Vents for freshwater tanks terminate at galley sinks.
